The client wished to build thirteen one and two bedroom apartments on a property fifty feet wide with fifteen foot setbacks on each side. The low budget and peculiar site necessitated a concrete structure. One gallery serves all the units. Two bedroom duplex units occur on the lower level with studio apartments at the upper level. Interlocking staircases are used to access the different levels in the apartments, saving space and cost. Parking occurs below the building, depressed by a half level. A three level unit with solarium was included for the owner. The building contains 93% rentable space and was highly economical in its construction.
